Freemanville at Birmingham and Providence

These intersections were identified in the Milton Comprehensive Transportation Plan (CTP) as priority/key intersection improvements.

This phase of the project consists of public involvement and concept development for intersection improvements.

A Draft Concept Report is being finalized.

A Public Information Open House was held on Wednesday, September 17, 2014 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Milton City Hall Council Chambers.

Both intersections are currently controlled by four-way stop signs which are causing undesirable delays and congestion for drivers during the morning and afternoon peak rush hours. The City of Milton and its consultant, Pond & Company, have worked together to study the traffic at each intersection and to develop a list of alternative concepts that have the potential to improve conditions at each location. Four alternatives were selected for study:

Considerations for selection of the preferred alternative(s) will include impacts to vehicle delays, impacts to existing land parcels, and maintenance and construction costs.
