Meetings, events called off due to coronavirus

The City of Milton has canceled numerous meetings and events as part of its effort to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus, COVID-19.

Monday's City Council meeting will take place as scheduled in Council Chambers, albeit with a significantly abbreviated agenda. There will be no discussion of the Trails Plan, for instance, as previously expected.

But other meetings that had been set for City Hall and other municipal buildings will not occur. Canceled meetings are listed below, along with the dates they'd been scheduled:

Several other programs and events have been canceled as well. They include Milton's Community Egg Hunt, a City-sponsored event set to take place between 10 a.m. and noon on Saturday, April 4, outside Cambridge High School. Volunteers from Stonecreek Church planned to play a major role organizing and running the popular Egg Hunt, just as they did last year.

Here is a list of other City programs and events that will no longer take place in the coming days -- again, along with the date they'd been expected to happen:

In addition all of Milton's Parks and Recreation programs -- as well as indoor and outdoor facility rentals -- have been called off until at least April 13.

The events, meetings and programs listed above do not represent all cancellations tied to the City's response to coronavirus.
