Intent on minimizing the spread of the novel coronavirus, COVID-19, the City of Milton has halted all Parks and Recreation programming -- including baseball, basketball, dance, lacrosse, music, Tai Chi and tennis -- run through the City.
The stoppage goes through at least April 12, with City officials planning to reevaluate the situation in early April.
In addition to cancelling programs, the City will no longer rent out its indoor and outdoor facilities through at least April 12. Our parks, however, will not be closed to the general public during this time.
Fulton County Senior Services has also closed the Milton Senior Center, located at the historic Thomas Byrd Sr. House off Hopewell Road, through at least March 27.
We apologize for any inconvenience these closures and cancellations may cause, especially to those who have long enjoyed and relied on Milton's recreation services. That said, we expect you share our concern for preventing the spread of this virus and keeping our community as healthy as it can be.
The City will continually assess the situation and communicate any further changes as expeditiously as possible. Please check the City's website (https://www.cityofmiltonga.us), Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/thecityofmiltonga) and Twitter page (https://twitter.com/cityofmiltonga) for the latest information on Milton's response to this coronavirus.
