Capital Improvement Program

The Milton Capital Improvement Program includes goals of addressing: maintenance of roads and streets at an adequate level of service; critical infrastructure needs including bridges and dams; roadway bottlenecks; safety and speeding issues; and preservation of the rural character of gravel roads.

Intersection Improvements

Intersections in Milton were evaluated for potential improvements as a part of the Comprehensive Transportation Plan (CTP).

Bridges

In October 2009 Milton completed a bridge audit to determine bridge repair and replacement needs.

Pavement management

  • In 2007 Milton conducted a pavement management study of approximately 190 miles of city-owned paved roadways. As part of the CTP Milton reviewed the results of the study in order to develop budget needs and priorities, including the development of specific maintenance and rehabilitation recommendations.
  • As a part of the CTP, Milton reviewed the 13 miles of gravel roads and associated maintenance strategy, costs and recommendations.
