Welcome to the Milton Police Department Web site. We hope that you find it helpful. It is designed to give you pertinent and up-to-date information about your police agency.
Since the Milton Police Department began serving the citizens of Milton on May 1, 2007, it has grown to an authorized strength of 39 officers who come from diverse backgrounds and possess a wide range of knowledge and experience. These officers chose to serve in Milton for different reasons: Many for the excitement of a new city, a few because they grew up in Milton and others because they love the character and people of the city. Regardless of the reason each officer chose Milton, he or she proudly provides police services to the citizens and visitors alike.
We are committed to providing a professional and proactive police department to serve the city. Officers are encouraged to continually improve themselves and the way they interact with the community. It is our goal that through problem-oriented policing and increased community ties the department will continue to provide the safest environment for all who live, work and travel through the City of Milton.
This department is staffed with exceptional men and women who are led to provide the highest level of service possible to the community. This is accomplished through practicing the core values of our agency: People first, service, creativity, initiative and problem-solving.
The police department strives to be an open and integral asset to the community. We encourage anyone who is interested in becoming more familiar with our department and our personnel to contact us. We are located at 13000 Deerfield Parkway, Suite 107F. Our administrative offices are open from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. The office phone number is 678.242.2570.

Reports are usually completed within five business days. You may pick up a copy of your report at the Police Department (address listed above), or you may request an email or fax copy. For more information, call 678.242.2606.
Accident reports have no cost. For all other records requests, there is no charge until the paper report reaches 50 pages, or $5. There is no charge for video requests.
Yes, we do background checks. You will need to fill out a form at the police department and present a valid government-issued ID. Background checks cover the entire state of Georgia and are ready for pick up in one to three business days. The cost is $20.
Yes; however, fingerprinting is available by appointment only. Please contact 678.242.2570 to schedule an appointment. The cost is $30 for the first card and $5 for each additional card.
We do not issue TPOs. These are issued by the local sheriff's office where the individual you are filing against resides.

Yes, however, they are required to have a permit issued from the city. They must have the permit on them at all times.
Individuals who are soliciting for charitable, political, or other nonprofit purposes are not required to possess a permit provided that all sales proceeds are the property of and used by the nonprofit organization.
The approved hours for soliciting are Monday through Saturday between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m.
