Paul Moore, a long-time resident of Milton and former appointee to the Planning Commission, was elected during the November 2019 general election.
Moore has called Milton home for 23 years and raised three children here with his wife, Kathy. Since putting down Milton roots in 1997, he has been an active neighbor, community advocate and civil servant.
For eight years prior to Milton’s inception as an independent city, Moore was a regular voice at the podium, speaking in front of the Fulton County Commissioners to advocate for a thoughtful, conservative plan for development and community growth. Since Milton’s inception as a city, Moore served as Mayor Joe Lockwood’s appointee to the Planning Commission and has served as either Chairman (9 years) or Vice-Chairman (4 years) throughout his 13-year tenure.
Prior to his election in November of 2019, Moore was one of the longest-serving volunteers for Milton. He has been a steady guide and determined voice for all residents. Moore’s campaign for a seat on City Council focused on ensuring Milton’s rural character is maintained, that there is strict adherence to the Milton Comprehensive Land Use Plan and that development decisions are based on balancing the community’s rural aesthetic with the City’s growth demands.
In addition to being a husband, father, grandfather and dedicated civic volunteer, Moore is a senior executive in the communications industry serving as Executive Director of Strategic Initiatives for Midland Communications, a leader in providing communications systems and towers for local, state and federal facilities and private enterprise. His current project focus is on communication platforms for the offshore wind industry. Moore’s early career that eventually brought him to Milton consisted of senior sales management roles in Fortune 500 companies including Procter and Gamble, Coca-Cola, Dannon, Motorola and Portman Companies (AmericasMart). He graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Madison and holds a BA in International Relations and Political Science.
