Mark Stephens currently serves as the Deputy Fire Chief.
His primary duties are to professionally manage the Operations Division of the Department.
Stephens joined the City of Milton Fire Department as a Captain in April of 2007 during its initial deployment. Prior to coming to Milton he served with the Fulton County Fire Department.
Stephens retired from the Fulton County Fire Department after 15 years of service. During his tenure with Fulton County, he progressed through the rank of Captain and also had experience as an acting Battalion Chief.
Stephens served as a Company Officer on the Georgia Search and Rescue Team (Metro Region GSAR 3). During this assignment he obtained technician certifications in rope rescue, trench rescue, confined space rescue, and structural collapse rescue.
He is a 2011 graduate of the University of Maryland Fire and Rescue Institute National Fire Service Staff and Command, a certified Emergency Medical Technician, and began his fire service career in 1992.
