The Training Division is responsible for developing, organizing and implementing fire, EMS and employee development training programs for the City of Milton Fire-Rescue Department.
This division also serves as the department’s Training/Health and Safety Officer and performs other duties when assigned by the Fire Chief.
Battalion Chief Jason Baswell currently serves as the Training/Health and Safety Officer for the City of Milton Fire Department.
Baswell joined the City of Milton Fire Department in April 2007 as a lieutenant assigned to an engine company. He was soon promoted to captain and reassigned to the training division. Prior to coming to Milton, he served with the Fulton County Fire Department.
During his tenure with Fulton County, Baswell was assigned to the Department’s Special Operations Georgia Search and Rescue Team. He received specialized technician training in rope and trench rescue, structural collapse, confined space and hazardous materials.
Baswell is responsible for directly managing the department’s stations and all of their activities during his shift.
