Impact fees are imposed by a local government on a new or proposed development project to pay for all or a portion of the costs of providing public services to the new development.
Only new applications for developments are affected. The fee will be assessed at the time of application; however, the applicant may choose to defere payment until receiving the certificate of occupancy or completion.
Fees help provide expanded parks and recreation programs, fire protection, law enforcement and road improvements.
