This annual program begins every fall and runs each Thursday night from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. with classes held at the Milton Municipal Court and Police Department, located at 13000 Deerfield Pkwy, Suite 107E. *Registration and background check are required to attend.*

Officer Chad West, a native of North Alabama, serves as the Milton Police Department’s Community Outreach Officer.
Officer West began his law enforcement career shortly after graduating with his Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Alabama. Prior to his four years with Milton, he served with the Madison, Alabama Police Department for two years as a member of the agency’s Uniform Patrol Division.
As the community outreach officer, West oversees the Milton Citizens' Police Academy and the Milton Police Explorers Program, along with coordinating the RAD Womens' Self Defense Courses and the Alive at 25 Driving Safety Program. He is also responsible for addressing citizen issues and concerns and speaking to neighborhood groups about crime prevention.
