Firefighter/Paramedic


Department: Milton Fire Department
Compensation: FS-04

Firefighters respond to emergency calls and fight/suppress fires. Responsibilities include responding to fire/rescue/medical emergency calls for protection of life and property, driving/operating fire apparatus, controlling/extinguishing fires, performing search/rescue, providing basic life support to sick/injured persons, and maintaining department apparatus/equipment in a state of readiness. Will participate in training, fire prevention and education programs as required. Performs other related duties as required.

Benefits

Starting salary is to $40,000 DOQ

Minimum Requirements

High school diploma or GED; supplemented by 12 months previous experience and/or training involving fire fighting and basic emergency medical care; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Georgia Basic Firefighter certification (NPQ 1) required.  Out-of-state applicants will be required to pass the Georgia test to attain certification.  Candidates must have a valid driver’s license, a satisfactory MVR and the ability to obtain a Georgia Driver's License.

Preference will be given to applicants with a Georgia Basic EMT certification and/or Paramedic certification.
