Push-in ceremony, new firefighters
Push-In Ceremony Dec. 12

FINANCE
Business License Renewals

Business license renewals will be due March 31, 2020. Renewal packets will be in the mail by mid-December with instructions on how to renew your license.
COMMUNICATIONS & ENGAGEMENT
Citizen's Government Academy
The City of Milton will offer its fourth Citizen's Government Academy (CGA) beginning Jan. 28, 2020. CGA is an eight-week course designed to provide an in-depth look at the many functions of municipal government. Classes meet on Tuesdays from 6:30-9 p.m. They are held at City Hall and various government buildings in Milton, allowing participants to fully experience all city facilities. #MiltonEveryoneCounts
The City is looking for members to Milton's Census 2020 Stakeholder Group. This group will be "cheerleaders" to help us get 100% participation in the 2020 Census in Milton. Counting everyone is important for the City to get more funding per person for various public programs! This groups will advise the City how to get 100% count. Newest Greenspace property
The City closed on the newest Greenspace property, 14620 Freemanville Road. The 12-acre property will provide the opportunity for access to the southern portion of the former Milton Country Club. At this time, both this property and the former Milton Country Club are closed to the public.
Septic tank workshop
The Fulton County septic tank workshop, originally scheduled for December, has been rescheduled to January. A flyer will be out soon with more details!
Recycle your Christmas trees!
The "Bring One for the Chipper" event will be held Saturday, January 4. Location to be announced soon.
PARKS & RECREATION
Updates
New Dance program
The City is now partnering with Rhythm 'N Shoes to bring dance classes to Milton! Registration is now open for children ages 2-8. Classes will take place on Thursdays at Bethwell Community Center, beginning January 6. The cost for the 8-week fall session is $96 for residents. For more info, or to register, clickHERE.
Camp Joyful Souls registration

Camp Joyful Soles registration will open Jan. 28, 2020!This small, specialized camp for individuals with special needs is limited to just 30 participants each week and includes: arts and crafts; games, music, art and drama therapy, special guests, field trips and swimming once a week.For more information, clickHERE.

Registration for girls'Eagle Stixlacrosse is open through Dec. 22.
Registration forNorth Georgia Rec boys lacrosseis ongoing and will end in early February.

Vacation checks, New Year's Fireworks reminder
Vacation checks
If you're heading out of town during this holiday season, contact the Milton Police Department and request avacation check. When you submit a request, MPD officers are notified of the your absence and will spend extra time checking on the residence while you're out of town, and will notify you if there are any issues.
New Year's fireworks
As a reminder:fireworks are allowed on any day of the year until 9 p.m., provided they do not create loud and unreasonable noise.
On New Years' Eve, fireworks are allowed until 1 a.m. on January 1. As always, be sure to notify your neighbors if you plan on shooting fireworks near properties that have animals that are sensitive to loud noises.
